Cyclone Nargis was a strong tropical cyclone and was one of the deadliest natural disaster that hit Burma also know as Myanmar.
Nargis is the deadliest named cyclone in the North Indian Ocean Basin. The second most deadliest cyclone is the Typhoon Nina. Including other unnamed storms, Nargis was ranked as the 8th deadliest cyclone.
Nargis Cyclone which hit Myanmar had devloped on Apirl 27 in the areas of Bay Bengal. It slowly tracked northwesternward where conditions were favourable. As it moved, it continued to be strengthened until it weakened itself between Apirl 29 and May 2. It lied somewhere of the border between Thailand and Burma (Myanmar).
The cyclone made landfall in the country on May 2, 2008, causing catastrophic destruction. Many either dead or homeless when the cyclone hit Burma, almost all of the infrastruction were destroyed during the storm.
