Polytechnic Last Day

Today is my last paper and also my last day in the Polytechnic.

In these 3 years, I've make quite a number of best friends. Looking back, it was very memorable especially some of the fun we have in the school.

Walking back to the first year in my polytechnic...

Before the start of the school days in polytechnic, I attended a Orientation Programme. In this Programme, I did not make any friends yet. I remembered it very clearly that in the Orientation, the person who sat besides me was Wei Jun. He became my best friend then.

The start of the school days, I met my first friend, Wei Jun. It was coincident because in the Orientation, he sat beside me!

In the first year, 8 Faeries came together!!

These are the 8 Faeries: Fazwin, Kenney. Wei Jun, Shawn, Jia Qi, Hakim, Andy, Kian Peng

Before we came together,

Andy, Shawn and Jia Qi had became friends.

Wei Jun and I became friends.

(I'm sorry to say this was the only thing I remembered)

The person who bought us together was Andy. One day, the 7 of us came together and sat together. The 7 of us except for Hakim. Hakim only joined us at a later stage.

In our group, some of us were quite close then..

Kenney and Hakim - close friends

In our first year in Polytechnic, we had quite a lot of fun include playing of block catching at Block 50.

The second year in Polytechnic...

Before the start of second year, there were 6 of us went for the Overseas Immersion Program (OIP) in Wuhan, China. We stayed for about 6 weeks and taken 2 core modules. (SOM and an IS module). The 6 of us who went were Kian Peng, Fazwin, Andy, Wei Jun, Kenney, Hakim. In these 6 weeks, a lot of things happened include romance, friendship etc.

Fazwin and XL - NOW: became BF and GF

Andy and IR - rejected in CH NOW: friends

Andy and XX - NOW: friends (not sure contactable since 2010)

Wei Jun and SH - NOW: close friends

Hakim and AQ - once a BF and GF NOW: break-up for various reasons (nobody knows)

Kian Peng and GR - rejected in SG NOW: friends

The second year of our studies started...

The 8 Faeries met 'MR MUSCLE' which is Dong Jin.

If I'm not wrong, he was the one who influenced people to go gym. During that period, Kenney and Dong Jin are somehow close because they went gym together.

Coming to what happened in the second year..

The most memorable I have in mind is the picnic outing (Jan 2011)

It was a day with food and fun. Wrestling, running on waters and so on. I remembered that very day, the afternoon was a rainy day with thunderstorms. I'm sitting under the shelter and some of them sheltered themselves with the picnic mat. True to say, almost everyone are wet!

The third year and the last year...

Internship and Final Year Project

In our third, we have split into different class, Oil & Gas and Design. Anyway, let me come back to the internship. There were 7 of the 9 Faeries under Keppel (Shawn, Fazwin, Kenney, Hakim, Jia Qi, Wei Jun and Andy). Another 2 of them under Sembcorp. (Dong Jin and Kian Peng).

12 weeks of internship was over and we continued our Final Year Poject.

For the Final Year Project, our group divided...

Fazwin, Kenney, Andy and Hakim as 1 Group

Shawn, Dong Jin, Kian Peng and Si Thu as 1 Group

Jia Qi as 1 Group

Wei Jun, Wei Yi and Zhi Ming as 1 Group

Final Year Project was a serious test to our friendship. There were arguments and disagreements among team members. Important is to work together and have the same objective. This was not the case for Fazwin's group. Due to this FYP, I heard that his group, there were unhappiness. They were divided where Fazwin and Andy, Kenney and Hakim. I don't understand why. As an outsider, I'm feeling sad why this kind of thing happened.

My group to say (Shawn's group), we had a lot of disagreements but we worked as a same team after an argument. (To be serious, when Dong Jin went down to gamble and did not do his work, team members like us feel angry because we were like working against this constrained of time, anyway what's over is over so so be it)

Seriously, I saw who to work with in a project, who able to contribute and who is not able to.

Next semester, where we divided into class, Oil & Gas and Design

Oil & Gas - Shawn, Fazwin, Hakim, Andy, Kenney

Design - Dong Jin, Kian Peng, Wei Jun and Jia Qi

In this semester, many of us changed. Example, Hakim actually dropped one of the modules (if I'm not wrong) and also won dancing competition, Kenney leaved the group of 9 Faeries and joined the other group of friends. (I'm disappointed to have him as a friend but I've understand how strong our friendship are over these years.)

Recently, which is before the examinations, Wei Jun and I participated the Keppel-Rina Competition. We had won the competition and a certificate who be awarded during graduation ceremony. I feel proud of myself to have won this competition.

In these 3 years, I've grown a lot. Going through the Immersion Programme in China, I learned to be more independent and to be more mature. Also, I've understand what is friendship all about.

To all the Faeries:

Thank you, guys for going through with me these ups and downs over these 3 years! I'm very happy to have you as friends.

I hope all of you will do well in future and hope that we will meet again in the future. Le's pursue our dreams together!
