Presidential Election 2011 Results

This is the most competitive Presidential Election in 18 years!
A total of 4 candidates participate in this election.
Timeline on the Presidential Election Result: (27 Aug to 28 Aug)

0800 - A total of 781 polling stations are opened. They are located at school, community centres and void decks.
1700 - Elections Departments announced that 83.44% of 2.27 million eligible voters have cast their votes
2000 - All Polling Stations are closed and ballot boxes are sealed. They are bought to the 162 counting centres.
(Once ballot boxes are bought to the counting centres, counting of the votes started.)
2236 - Presidential Candidate Mr. Tan Kin Lian has conceded defeat. According to report from Channel NewsAsia, he said that after his visit to the third counting stations, it is hard for him to win this election. He also said that it is tough fight between the two top candidates.
(There were many rumors about who these two candidates are, many might have realized that it could be Dr. Tony Tan and Dr. Tan Cheng Bock)

0115 - Elections Department allows the recounting of the votes. (Recount of the votes come in place only when there are two leading candidates have a margin of less than 2% votes)
(Before recount, there are sources about the amount of votes they get, they are as follows:
Dr. Tan Cheng Bock - 736, 825
Dr. Tony Tan - 744, 459
Mr. Tan Jee Say - 529, 670
Mr. Tan Kin Lian - 103, 901
There are a margin vote of 7, 634 which is 0.36% votes between the two leading candidates)
0423 - Returning Officer, Yam Ah Mee announce the result after the recounting of the votes.
Results are as follows:
Dr. Tan Cheng Bock - 737, 128 (34.85%)
Dr. Tony Tan - 744, 397 (35.19%) - WIN by 0.34%
Mr. Tan Jee Say - 529, 732 (25.04%)
Mr. Tan Kin Lian - 103, 931 (4.91%)
Total Eligible Votes are 2, 115, 188
Rejected Votes are 37, 826
