Electoral Boundaries

The General Election is coming soon.
Today, the Elections Departments declared the
Electoral Boundaries in this coming election. In this coming election, there will be 12 single members and 15 Group Representatives Constituencies. From previous election in 2006, there is an increase in number of single wards and a smaller
GRCs where there will only be one
GRCs having six candidates, the rest will be four or five.
The new single member in this election are
Whampoa,
Yuhua, Mountbatten,
Radin Mas.
Hong Kah North, Pioneer,
Punggol East and
Sengkang West.
GRCs are mainly
Sembawang,
Chua Chu Kang,
Bishan-
Toa Payoh etc.
Signs of Election??Since the electoral boundaries report has being announced, the polling day will take place anywhere in around 17 days to nearly six months. (From past election, the polling day will take place at this duration)
From what we can see now, budget 2011 debate will held in Parliament in this few weeks. It may last for about 2 weeks or so. Once after this, Parliament will dissolve and start the general election. From many predicted, the likely time for polling day is end of April to early May.
